Conventional DMR

The Whistler TRX-2 is a multi-system adaptive digital trunking scanner that can monitor the following unencrypted channels/systems: Motorola P25 Phase I, X2-TDMA, Phase II, NDXN, and DMR. Conventional DMR (also known as DMR trunked systems, Hytera XPT, MotoTRBO Capacity Plus, MotoTRBO Connect Plus, and MotoTRBO Linked Cap Plus systems)

With Scanner Master's Set-up & Optimize service, your TRX-2 is updated and ready to use in your area, making it ideal for personal use or as a gift.

Scanner Master will create a Scan List for the customer (based on your order's ship to address) or for the area in which the scanner will be used if the customer specifies a different city and county . By entering the end-zip user's code, Scanner Master will also pre-tune the radio. Please keep in mind that this service will add 7 to 14 business days to the processing time before the radio is shipped.

Whistler TRX-2 Digital Radio Scanner Base allows the user to group stored objects using up to 200 Scanlists and a special Skywarn scanlist. Objects can be mapped to as many Scanlists as desired, giving you complete control over grouping objects and selecting groups for scanning in any combination.

Skywarn scanlist

When certain Scannable Objects are active, programmable audible alarms can be set to sound. It can be used in conjunction with or in addition to the Alert LED described above.
Save audio from selected objects and searches to a Micro SD card. Replay recorded audio using the powerful built-in playback system, or transfer to a PC for playback and archival purposes. The 2 GB microSDr can hold up to 50 hours of audio.

Discriminator Output

Recorded audio files can be date and time stamped, and the "alarm clock" function allows you to program the scanner to wake up and begin scanning at a specific time each day.
A Discriminator Output provides raw discriminator signal to third-party signal decoding software without the need for risky hardware modifications. Predefined service search ranges make it easy to find activity in your area.

Object Oriented database

A simplified keypad and display, as well as familiar Scan, Pause, Skip, and Navigation controls, make it simple to operate your TRX-2. Whistler's exclusive Object Oriented database powers the show behind the scenes, with support for millions of stored objects limited only by MicroSD card capacity.
The TRX-2 PC Application can save up to 200 V-Scanner configurations on the MicroSD Card with the expanded V-Scanner II (VS-II) storage system, which can be recalled at any time in the field using the radio's keypad.

USB Mass Storage Device

Composite Device USB interface that supports USB Mass Storage Device (MSD) and Serial Data (CDC). Access the MicroSD card without having to remove it from the radio, stream decoded Control Channel data, and upgrade the firmware of your radio via USB. A USB mini cable is included. The TRX-2 detects, masks, and decodes RadioID/TalkgroupID data embedded in voice packets.

The RadioReference data library and all of your programming are stored on an industry standard MicroSD card - capacity for millions of stored objects! Cards up to 32 GB are supported.
Scanner for the most common trunked radio system signaling formats, such as Motorola, EDACS, LTR, and P25 trunked radio networks. Individual and talkgroup call monitoring are both supported.
Quickly scans the frequency ranges of the TRX-2 for transmissions from nearby sources. When a nearby transmission is detected, the TRX-2 automatically tunes to that frequency and begins receiving traffic. Lock out previously discovered frequencies and continue searching in the same band.

Weather Alert

Maintain your TRX-2 firmware and Library data by customizing existing programming or adding new objects to scan. When certain objects are active, the backlight can be programmed to flash with custom flash patterns, alerting the operator to the presence of important radio traffic.
The weather event is displayed and an alert is sounded for a specific county or counties of your choice.
Scan Sets extend the functionality of Scanlists by allowing you to define different combinations of enabled Scanlists as Scan Sets, and then use a simple menu system to select one or more Scan Sets for scanning. Scanlists and Scan Sets provide limitless options for grouping, enabling, and disabling objects for scanning.

The entire USA and Canada databases from www.radioreference.com are stored on a standard MicroSD Card included with the TRX-2, providing you with access to the most comprehensive radio data available without the need to connect the TRX-2 to a computer or the Internet! Updated database, CPU, and DSP firmware are available for free download.

With free upgrades, you can keep your radio's CPU and DSP firmware, as well as the RadioReference library, up to date with enhancements and updates as they become available!
Thousands of colors can be displayed on a programmable tri-color LED to indicate different types of activity or activity on specific channels. Color sequences with multiple colors can be programmed for special alerts, and the red/blue strobe of police vehicles can be emulated.
