Architectural Highlights:
ExtremeXOS has a robust set of Layer 2 & 3 network protocols, provide a flexible architecture for highly resilient networks and have been designed to support the next-generation Internet Protocol—IPV6.
ExtremeXOS is an incredibly advanced software platform for converged networks. It's highly extensible , runs extremely well on servers, and has components to mitigate security threats.
ExtremeXOS is one of the few carriers who deliver carrier grade voice and video services over IP. It supports complex business applications, such as CRM.
Extreme Networks has created the ExtremeXOS modular Operating System, a top performing network that is capable of being deployed quickly and effectively.
Extreme Switch X620 high availability architecture is one of the most important technological advancements in the cable and networking industry. It reduces network downtime for mission-critical applications such as CRM, data warehouses and VoIP traversing over Carrier Ethernet platforms.
Built-in security capabilities provide integrated network access control and endpoint protection.
With ExtremeXOS's advanced system-integrated services (SIS), you can: Integrate sophisticated data center security devices, and centralize management; Resolve critical issues that jeopardize network stability; Interact with management systems to get better insight into network health
ExtremeXOS switches protect against Denial of Service (DOS) attacks by inspecting the traffic flowing through their front-end and back-end. If a large number of packets get jammed in to the CPU input queue, they assemble CPU ACLs that stop these packets from passing up to where they can slow everything down.
ACLs that are removed and restored while the attachment continues. An ASIC-based LPM routing eliminates the need for sophisticated control plane software to learn new flows, allowing more resiliency against DOS attacks.
Previously, ExtremeXOS could only load modules at the operating system grub phase. Now it can dynamically start and stop them for your applications.
ExtremeXOS endeavors with POSIX-compliant APIs to ease the integration of new applications. Such APIs can easily provide SSH/SCP/SSL functionality designed to keep information under tight export controls, avoiding the need for a new OS image install that will contain this functionality.
The same infrastructure is also used to integrate a third-party application. An example is an application layer monitoring agent that supports simulation and monitoring of the behavior of voice over IP (VoIP) applications in a network.
Have you been wondering how to take advantage of this new digital technology? Want to get the most out of your router setup? ExtremeXOS makes advanced control over network traffic online simple, and a 99.9% uptime guarantee assures top-notch reliability you can depend on.
The ExtremeSwitching X620 product family is a compact 10Gb Ethernet switch designed for 10GB edge applications.
The family includes 10-port and 16-port 10 GbE versions – all in a small 1RU form factor – ideal for high-performance workgroups requiring 10GB connectivity to servers, storage and clients.
The X620 simplifies network operation with its ExtremeXOS modular operating system, used across all ExtremeSwitching networking products, and supports intelligent Layer 2 switching, Layer 3 IPv4/IPv6 routing, as well as role-based policy capabilities.
The high availability ExtremeXOS operating system provides operational efficiency through the use of one OS everywhere in the network.
