Yves Saint Laurent's design house introduced it in 2002. A truly exceptional fruity floral that is simply amazing. Yves Saint Laurent has announced a new iteration of the renowned Black Opium collection, Black Opium Floral Shock, which will be released in early 2017.

Floral and Green Smells

With its zesty lemon opening, white floral character in the heart with strong gardenia, and iced coffee and white musk at the base of the scent, the new composition belongs to the family of fruity - florientals and "shocks."

YSL created Black Opium Floral Shock EDP 3oz Women with perfumers Marie Salamagne, Nathalie Lorson, Honorine Blanc, and Olivier Cresp. The new Black Opium Floral Shock is described as a "fresher" version with more floral and green smells, as well as the first to have the "iced coffee" component.

Original's form and appearance

The composition's first floral accord is the freshness of lemon, bergamot, and pear in the top notes, combined with freesia. White blossoms of golden gardenia, orange blossom, and a sunny floral harmony adorn the heart. The fragrance was created in collaboration with perfumers Nathalie Lorson, Marie Salamagne, Olivier Cresp, and Honorine Blanc.

The bottle keeps the original's form and appearance; it is translucent and covered in black sparkles that dissolve at the bottom to expose the pink juice. Model Edie Campbell is the face of the campaign.
